The documentary “We Did IT – Celebrating 10 years living with HIV/AIDS” was finalized in the first half of 2015. The documentary was started as a FORO project in 2014. It is made and produced by a team of the people started Reach Out Mbuya Parish HIV/AID Initiative in 2001 and the clients interviewed were among the very first receiving ART as part of the PEPFAR program.
The documentary is unique in that very little filmed material exists on the long term impact of ART in Sub-Sahara Africa. The message of the documentary is that ART works, it gives people a second chance of life and it is a great development investment. Lives of individuals and families can be changed with ART – it can be done, thus we have to do it.
